Terms of Use

Effective Date: October 18, 2026

Welcome to Officiate This.

Officiate This is a brand operated by Jen Picardo Marketing Group LLC (“JPM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Massachusetts limited liability company.

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Officiate This website and certain aspects of your interactions with us. By using this website, you agree to these Terms.

If you book officiant or related services with Officiate This, your signed service agreement will contain additional terms specific to your booking. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a signed service agreement concerning booked services, the signed service agreement controls.

Website Purpose

The Officiate This website provides information about wedding officiant and related ceremony services, including service options, pricing, travel information, availability inquiries, planning resources, and ways to contact or book Officiate This.

Information on the website is provided for general informational purposes and may be changed or updated at any time.

Inquiries and Booking

Submitting an inquiry, completing a form, requesting a quote, scheduling a consultation, or discussing a potential date does not reserve that date or create a booking.

Your ceremony date and time are considered reserved only after the booking requirements communicated to you have been completed. These may include signing a service agreement and paying the required booking retainer.

Until your booking is confirmed, availability may change and Officiate This may accept another event for the same date or time.

Pricing

We make reasonable efforts to keep website pricing and service information current.

The price shown for a service may not include travel or other expenses associated with a particular event.

Depending on the location and circumstances, additional charges may apply for:

Mileage beyond the included travel area

Tolls and parking

Ferries, trains, or other transportation

Lodging

Meals or per diem when applicable

Extraordinary travel requirements

Additional services requested by the client

Any additional charges applicable to your booking will be identified during the booking process or governed by your service agreement.

Travel Estimates and Calculators

Officiate This may provide travel calculators, mileage estimates, or other tools to help you estimate potential costs.

These tools are provided for convenience and produce estimates only.

Actual travel charges may vary based on the final ceremony location, route, transportation requirements, parking, tolls, lodging, or other circumstances.

Your final booking information or service agreement will control if it differs from an estimate produced by the website.

Booking Retainer and Payment

A booking retainer may be required to reserve your ceremony date and time. The amount of the retainer, payment schedule, final balance due date, and other payment requirements will be disclosed during the booking process and included in your service agreement when applicable.

The booking retainer is applied toward the total service fee.

Cancellation, refund, and rescheduling terms are governed by the Officiate This Cancellation & Refund Policy and any additional provisions contained in your service agreement.

Cancellation, Refunds, and Rescheduling

We understand that wedding plans sometimes change.

Our policies regarding cancellations, refunds, rescheduling, date changes, emergencies, and cancellation by Officiate This are provided in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

That policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and may also be incorporated into your service agreement.

If your signed service agreement contains cancellation or rescheduling terms specific to your booking that differ from the general website policy, the signed service agreement controls to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms or our Cancellation & Refund Policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

Marriage Licenses and Legal Requirements

Marriage laws and procedures vary by state and municipality.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, the couple is responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license and satisfying the legal requirements applicable to their marriage.

This includes confirming requirements such as:

Where and when to obtain the marriage license

Identification or documentation requirements

Waiting periods

Expiration dates

Witness requirements, where applicable

Any other requirements imposed by the issuing jurisdiction

Officiate This may provide general information about marriage procedures as a convenience, but that information is not legal advice.

We will perform the officiant responsibilities applicable to us under the laws governing the ceremony and as described in the applicable service agreement.

Marriage License Handling

When your service includes completion or return of a marriage license by the officiant, Officiate This will make reasonable efforts to complete and return the license as required by the applicable jurisdiction.

The couple remains responsible for obtaining the correct license, providing it to the officiant when required, and ensuring that the information supplied to us is accurate.

We are not responsible for delays caused by government offices, postal or delivery services, incorrect information provided to us, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Information You Provide

You are responsible for providing accurate information reasonably necessary for us to perform your services.

This may include:

Legal names

Preferred names and pronunciations

Ceremony date, time, and location

Contact information

Marriage license information

Wedding party information

Ceremony preferences

Scheduling and logistical details

Please notify us promptly if important information changes.

Ceremony Content

Officiate This may assist with developing, writing, editing, or personalizing ceremony content.

Clients are responsible for reviewing names, facts, pronunciations, stories, readings, vows, and other personalized information when drafts or planning materials are provided for review.

We will make reasonable efforts to incorporate agreed-upon changes and accurately deliver the ceremony.

Weddings are live events, however, and minor variations in wording, timing, pronunciation, or delivery may occur. Minor variations do not constitute a failure to provide the contracted service.

Ceremony Changes

Reasonable ceremony changes can generally be accommodated during the planning process.

Significant changes to the date, time, location, travel requirements, ceremony format, rehearsal requirements, or scope of services may affect availability or pricing.

Any material changes should be communicated as soon as possible.

Timing and Delays

You are responsible for providing accurate ceremony timing and notifying us of known schedule changes.

We understand that weddings sometimes run late and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate ordinary delays.

Significant delays, however, may affect our ability to perform the ceremony as originally planned when we have other scheduled commitments, travel requirements, venue limitations, or circumstances outside our control.

Any specific timing requirements, waiting periods, or additional charges applicable to your booking may be included in your service agreement.

Weather and Outdoor Ceremonies

For outdoor ceremonies, clients are responsible for working with their venue and other vendors to maintain a reasonably safe and workable ceremony environment.

Officiate This may modify, delay, relocate, or decline to perform services when conditions create a legitimate safety risk, including severe weather or unsafe venue conditions.

Whenever reasonably possible, we will work with you and your venue to find a practical alternative.

Venue Requirements

You are responsible for confirming that your venue permits the planned ceremony and for communicating venue requirements that may affect the officiant.

This may include arrival procedures, parking, security, sound requirements, rehearsal access, ceremony restrictions, or other venue-specific rules.

Third-Party Vendors and Services

We may recommend, link to, or work alongside venues, photographers, planners, musicians, florists, transportation providers, or other wedding professionals.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, these businesses are independent third parties.

A recommendation or website link does not create a partnership or agency relationship and is not a guarantee of another vendor's services.

Officiate This and JPM are not responsible for the acts, omissions, products, services, availability, policies, or performance of independent third parties.

Photos, Video, and Wedding Content

The presence of Officiate This at your wedding does not give us ownership of photographs or video created by your photographer, videographer, guests, or other vendors.

Likewise, booking Officiate This does not automatically grant us permission to publicly use identifiable photographs, private vows, personal stories, or other private ceremony content for marketing.

Any rights or permissions concerning photographs, video, testimonials, or other client content may be addressed separately through your service agreement, a release, or another form of permission.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Officiate This website, branding, graphics, written content, original planning materials, templates, resources, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Jen Picardo Marketing Group LLC.

You may use publicly available website materials for your personal, noncommercial use.

You may not reproduce, republish, sell, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit our website content, branding, templates, or proprietary materials without permission.

Rights relating to custom ceremony scripts, vows, readings, or other materials prepared specifically for you may be addressed separately in your service agreement.

Acceptable Website Use

You agree not to:

Use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or related systems

Interfere with website operation or security

Introduce malicious software or code

Systematically scrape or extract website content for unauthorized commercial use

Misrepresent your identity

Submit intentionally fraudulent or misleading information

We may restrict access to the website if we reasonably believe it is being misused.

No Legal Advice

Information provided by Officiate This about marriage licenses, officiant requirements, marriage laws, certificates, filing procedures, or similar subjects is provided for general informational purposes.

It is not legal advice.

Marriage requirements can change and vary by jurisdiction. Couples should confirm requirements directly with the city, town, county, state, or other government authority responsible for issuing their marriage license.

Website Availability and Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to keep the website accurate and available.

We do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely current.

We may modify, suspend, remove, or update website content or functionality at any time.

If website information differs from the terms of your confirmed booking or signed service agreement, the terms applicable to your confirmed booking control.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Jen Picardo Marketing Group LLC and Officiate This will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising solely from your use of, or inability to use, this website.

Liability relating to booked officiant services is governed by the applicable service agreement and applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.

Privacy

Your use of the website is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how information may be collected, used, stored, and disclosed.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as our website, services, policies, or legal obligations change.

The effective date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently updated.

Material changes may also be communicated in another reasonable manner when appropriate.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute concerning these website Terms will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any enforceable dispute-resolution provisions contained in an applicable service agreement.
