Cancellation & Rescheduling

Your wedding date and ceremony time are reserved specifically for you. Once your booking is confirmed, Officiate This may decline other events that conflict with your reservation and will begin preparing for your ceremony.

Booking Retainer

A booking retainer equal to 50% of your total service fee is required to reserve your date and time. The retainer is applied toward your total service fee.

Except where otherwise required by applicable law or stated below, the booking retainer is non-refundable because it compensates Officiate This for reserving your date, declining conflicting bookings, and beginning work related to your ceremony.

If You Cancel

If you need to cancel your ceremony:

More than 90 days before the ceremony: Your booking retainer is retained, but no additional service fee is due.

31–90 days before the ceremony: 75% of the total service fee is due.

30 days or less before the ceremony: The full service fee is due.

Travel expenses that have not yet been incurred or committed will not be charged. Any non-refundable travel or other expenses already incurred specifically for your event remain your responsibility.

Cancellation must be provided in writing.

If You Need to Change Your Date

Plans change. If you need to move your wedding date, Officiate This will make reasonable efforts to accommodate one rescheduling request without requiring a new booking retainer.

All payments already made will be applied to the rescheduled ceremony, provided Officiate This is available on the new date.

If Officiate This is unavailable for the requested new date, the change will be treated as a cancellation under the schedule above.

Significant changes to the ceremony location, time, travel requirements, or scope of services may result in an adjustment to the total fee.

Emergencies and Extraordinary Circumstances

Illness, severe weather, family emergencies, and other unexpected situations happen.

When circumstances genuinely outside your control prevent the ceremony from taking place as planned, Officiate This may, at its discretion, waive or modify cancellation or rescheduling fees, apply payments to a future ceremony, or make another reasonable accommodation.

Any accommodation made under this provision does not alter the cancellation policy for other bookings.

If Officiate This Has to Cancel

If Officiate This is unable to perform your ceremony because of illness, emergency, or another circumstance beyond our reasonable control, we will make reasonable efforts to help arrange a qualified replacement officiant.

You may choose to accept the replacement or make your own arrangements.

If Officiate This cannot perform the ceremony and you do not accept a replacement officiant arranged by us, all amounts you paid to Officiate This for officiant services will be refunded.

Our responsibility for cancellation by Officiate This is limited to amounts paid directly to us. We are not responsible for costs associated with your venue, travel, other wedding professionals, or other expenses resulting from a cancellation.

Applicable Cancellation Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any cancellation or refund rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
